Distance: 20 miles in 8 hours

There is no timekeeping, there are no failures, we only recognize the incredible courage it takes to rise to our challenge. Every participant completing the distance will be awarded their finisher medal and considered a winner!

Starting time: You can choose from several time slots as early as 7:30 am with limited capacity when signing up. This ensures the most remote hiking experience as a maximum of 5 hikers will cross the starting line at the same time. The first ones will head out between 7:30 – 7:45 a.m. with the majority coming back in just about 8 hours. However, we will have our finish line open for the ones that need a bit more time.

Parking: Complimentary parking will be available on site..

Aid/refreshment stations: There are water stops and aid stations along the route providing toilets, food, and drinks for all participants. These refreshments are included in the cost of your ticket and vary between each station, offering water, energy drinks, electrolytes, fruits, cereal/protein bars, sandwiches and more.

Certificates: All finishers will receive their personalized certificate after crossing the finish line. For the ones who drop out, we will issue certificates stating the mileage covered.

Finisher medal/wall of fame: For all participants finishing MammothMarch

Hiking Pass: MammothMarch Hiking Passes will be made available for all new participants. All participants from a previous edition or different MammothMarch events should bring their Hiking Pass to collect their 2024 stamps on site.

Merchandise: Our 2024 merchandise collection is available right here. We will not be able to sell merchandise on the day of the event so make sure of our pre-order options for a hassle-free pick up on September 15.

Route: Our single-circuit loop covers 20 miles of National Park beauty. Please check out our 2023 route right here. This year’s final route will be revealed a few weeks before the event and most likely go counter-clockwise for new views 😉.

Total elevation gain: Around 1,700 ft.

Terrain: Mainly unpaved hiking trails, dirt trails, gravel roads, forest floor with a small stretch along the Towpath (less than 2 mi. in total)

The route will be made available approximately 2 weeks prior to the event. Please note that the route is preliminary and may be adjusted due to weather issues, official directives and/or organizational matters. The route will be marked 1-2 days prior to event day. Should we notice parts of the route being inaccessible, extremely wet/muddy we will adapt it to local conditions at short notice.
