MammothMarch Delaware Valley 2027
After four sold out events in a row, we are thrilled to be back at Fair Hill in northeast Maryland for MammothMarch Delaware Valley 2027!
Once one of the largest private land holdings in the east, Fair Hill Natural Resources Area – known for its 5,656 acres of pristine fields, woodlands and natural beauty – is once again all yours to conquer.
Join us on May 22, 2027, push your limits and reach new heights all while enjoying peaceful nature at its best.
Bordered by Pennsylvania to the north and less than half a mile west of Delaware, Fair Hill was previously owned by William duPont, Jr., an avid equestrian rider who acquired the farmland to enjoy riding as well as fox chasing. Today, it’s a picture-perfect spot for one of our most popular 20-mile hikes.
Master the challenge and spend a beautiful day hiking 20 miles at a stretch. Getting your finisher medal, you will be exhausted, but proud and happy... as well as part of our amazing community of nature-lovers, hikers and MammothMarch addicts!

Location (start/finish): Fair Hill Natural Resources Management Area, 4640 Telegraph Rd, Elkton, MD 21921
Distance: 20 miles in 8 hours There is no timekeeping, there are no failures, we only recognize the incredible courage it takes to rise to our challenge. Every participant completing the distance will be awarded their finisher medal and considered a winner!
Starting time: You can choose from several time slots as early as 6:45 am with limited capacity when signing up. This ensures the most remote hiking experience as a maximum of 5 hikers will cross the starting line at the same time. With the majority coming back in just about 8 hours, we will have our finish line open for the ones that need a bit more time. There will be a cut-off time at either aid station – safety first!
Lodging/Accommodation: … details will follow in due course.
Parking: Complimentary parking will be available on site.
Aid/refreshment stations: There are water stops and aid stations along the route (approximately positioned every 5-7 miles apart) providing toilets, food, and drinks for all participants. These refreshments are included in the cost of your ticket and vary between each station, offering water, energy drinks, electrolytes, fruits, cereal/protein bars, sandwiches and more.
Certificates: All finishers will receive their personalized certificate after crossing the finish line. For the ones who drop out, we will issue certificates stating the mileage covered.
Finisher medal/wall of fame: For all participants finishing MammothMarch.
Hiking Pass: MammothMarch Hiking Passes will be made available for all new participants. All participants from previous editions or different MammothMarch events should bring their Hiking Pass to collect their 2027 stamps on site.

Route: The single-circuit loop covers 20 miles along beautiful and scenic trails and creeks at Fair Hill NRMA. The final route will be made available around 2 weeks prior to the event. Take a look at our 2026 hiking route right here to see what to expect.
Total elevation gain: Around 1,600 ft.
Terrain: Mainly unpaved hiking trails, dirt trails, gravel roads and forest floor.
